ARE THERE SCENARIOS WHERE MY PET MAY NOT BE ABLE TO DO CERTAIN THERAPIES?

At Bridge City Veterinary Rehabilitation, we customize each treatment plan to your pet’s needs, and sometimes therapies like the underwater treadmill, PEMF, or laser therapy may not be suitable. The underwater treadmill may be avoided if your pet has open wounds, skin infections, severe heart or respiratory conditions, a significant fear of water that cannot be gradually managed, if they are a bitch in heat, or if they are very dirty . PEMF therapy might not be used for pets with , pacemakers (if the owner has a pacemaker or insulin pump they will be required to be outside the treatment room for their safety), or if they are pregnant. Laser therapy is avoided in several specific cases, such as directly into the eye, over the abdomen of pregnant animals, over tumors, over the thyroid gland, on pediatric growth plates, or in pets who are photosensitive. Our veterinary team will always ensure your pet’s safety and discuss the most effective treatment options for their recovery and comfort.
